Katie grew up in Iowa Falls, IA. She came to Nebraska to attend Dana College in Blair, NE. Upon graduating, Katie began her teaching career with Omaha Public Schools. After 21 years of teaching, Katie became a licensed insurance agent in 2020 and began working full time as a crop insurance agent with Ryan Crop Insurance. She will be the operations manager of this branch with Edgewater Insurance.

Katie has one son, Drew, who lives in Omaha with his wife, Erin and their daughter, Breha. She enjoys cooking, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
